New Media Journalism
Producing Stories That Spark Change
In today’s media-rich world, stories can inform, challenge and inspire. Through New Media Journalism, our students learn to use digital platforms to discuss real issues, highlight multiple perspectives and advocate for meaningful causes.
Students create social media-style short-form videos, video and audio podcasts, and feature video documentaries. Whether they are behind the camera, in front of the lens or behind the microphone, they learn to research, interview, script, present and persuade with confidence.
Guided by media professionals and authentic learning experiences, our students develop critical thinking by asking whose voices are heard, whose perspectives are missing and how their stories can move others to care. Through showcases, they grow as thoughtful storytellers who use media to spark conversations and champion change.
